EIT Alumni CONNECT 2022 wrap-up

This year, we again had an opportunity to meet on-site for the next edition of EIT Alumni CONNECT! Over 200 participants gathered in Budapest (and online) on Saturday 17th September to celebrate cross-sectoral collaboration, share ideas, and form alliances that will shape the future of Europe. As it was a hybrid event, EIT Alumni all around the world had a chance to join online and watch the live stream. Meanwhile, the on-site participants enjoyed a full day of talks and networking hosted at the MOME University of Art and Design in the charming capital of Hungary.

EIT Digital Alumni was represented by a large number of participants, which gave our members the possibility to reconnect with old friends and fellow alumni, while meeting innovators from all the other EIT communities. Our Events Officer, Luca Vavassori, even represented us on the stage as a moderator of an insightful session with Franziska-J. Klebôn, the Head of AI for Good in Microsoft.

Young Leaders for the Future of Europe

The EIT Alumni CONNECT is the annual event of the EIT Alumni, bringing together graduates, entrepreneurs, researchers, innovators and change-makers from all EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). This year, the event with a theme Young Leaders for the Future of Europe was a part of the INNOVEIT Weeks 2022, emphasising the power of young leaders as key drivers shaping the future of Europe. The programme included discussions about relevant EU initiatives such as: 2022 European Year of Youth and the Conference on Future of Europe.

The aim of the event was to bring together EIT Alumni, Unicorns, investors, high-level speakers and key opinion leaders from the global ecosystem, discuss Europe’s circular economy, resilience and digital capacity, help participant access funding and enable meaningful partnerships, and train and empower the next generation of leaders to seek public purpose and sustainability through innovation and entrepreneurship.

Last but not least, let’s give a big shout-out to the EIT Digital Alumni members who joined the organizing team as volunteers and helped make this wonderful event happen. Thank you for all your efforts, we’d love to have you in the organization team of our future events as well!
