Annual Meeting 2022 in Athens

Time flies, it has been 2 weeks since the official end of Annual Meeting 2022 and it is time we share the highlights with all our fellow Alumni! 

This year the event took place in Athens, Greece from 16th till 19th of June and as always it was full of activities. The topic of the event was "Emerging Technologies" focusing on all the hot topics discussed in a digital world in the past years. 

The arrival day started with a nice dinner at a Greek restaurant, where we got a chance to re-unite again and take our first networking steps. What we definetely had in plenty was food! Greek cuisine in combination with Greek hospitality create a perfect mix to ensure that the time together was spent with pleasure during all the meals we shared. And we had plenty of those! 

Friday was the main day of the event where we organized the conference "Emerging Tech Day". During the day we enjoyed talks from both our fellow Alumni and external speakers, they were split into multiple tracks:

  • Emerging Technologies in Healthcare;
  • Emerging Tech in Finance and NFTs;
  • Metaverse and IoT.

This year was the first time when we decided to open the conference for external participants. We had good feedback and gained a few new friends for Alumni Community. After the intensive day of learning and networking, we continued the night with another nice dinner in a greek restaurant and drinks on the rooftop bar overviewing Athens. 

Saturday was a fun day! We had the early start in order to avoid the afternoon heat with the visit to Athens' main attraction - Acropolis. Even though it was crowded, we could always spot each other by our branded bright blue hats! Further we continued the day with a lunch together with amazing view on Acropolis and prepared ourselves to the next fun challenge - Scavenger hunt in Athens! The hunt was set through different sightseeing point of the city, so we combined it with a city tour. The winning team got some amazing gifts and tons of fun stories to share. 

Unfortunately, Sunday came and we had to say goodbye! However, some people decided to stay and organized the day at the beach in two flavours: travelling to the nearby island for the whole day or chilling at the beach in the afternoon to catch the sunset! And as we suggested, some people even stayed longer and turned this trip into workoliday for the whole week. Athens is an amazing place for digital nomads as well!
