The Annual Meeting is the biggest and most important event of the EIT Digital Alumni, gathering our members from all over Europe and the rest of the world for an exciting weekend of networking, talks, workshops, strategic discussions about the future of our network and of course a lot of fun!
After the success of our Annual Meeting 2021 which took place after a big pandemic break, it is time to plan our event for 2022!
And this year you have yet another chance to make a decision for the whole community where we are going to host Annual Meeting 2022!
In the previous years we had amazing events in the centre of Europe in Brussels (Annual Meeting 2017), in the mountains around Trento (Annual Meeting 2018) , enjoyed the surfing in Porto (Annual Meeting 2019) and had the first post pandemic physical meeting (Annual Meeting 2021) in Stockholm! Unfortunately, as we all remember, our Annual Meeting 2020 was planned to be held in Split, Croatia but had to be cancelled and held on-line instead.
As we saw during the last two years, summers tend to be more open restrictions wise and also less people get infected, so it is a perfect moment to plan our gathering. Moreover, there are plenty of activities and places to choose from! And now is time to announce an Open Call for all alumni interested in becoming our right-hand helpers and organize together the 2022 Annual Meeting of the EIT Digital Alumni!
The process is quite simple: Just fill out this application document with your ideas and send it back to us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) before
February 27th, 2022 23:59 CET -> updated deadline on 13th March, 2022 23.59 CET. You should complete at least the sections listed in the template, but you are free to include any additional information that you consider important. We will review all applications and choose the best one according to the following criteria:
Originality: How exciting is the proposed location? What kinds of activities can be organized for the alumni there?
Logistics: How adequate is the location and venue to host the meeting? Is there a strong local team that can support the board on site?
Financial sustainability: Can we organize the meeting with the proposed budget? Has the team identified any partnership or sponsorship opportunities to obtain additional funds or reduce costs?
The selected applicant(s) will become the official Working Group for the Annual Meeting 2022, get automatically a free spot guaranteed for all team members (up to 3 people) and get invited to our next Local Reps Gathering happening later this year for a weekend planning session, with all travel and accommodation costs covered by the Alumni Foundation. Furthermore, the Working Group will act as our local counterpart and interact with partners, sponsors and providers in the place where our flagship event will take place.
