Board Meeting 2021 Feb

With the majority of Europe locked down in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the EIT Digital Alumni Board were unable to meet physically to plan the last couple of quarters of our mandate. However, we did find time to spend a day online together to discuss what the community can achieve over the first half of the year. The main topics on the agenda were the Annual Meeting 2021, our relationship with EIT Digital, a follow-up to the successful Tuesday Afterwork series and the recruitment of the next EIT Digital Alumni Board.

The Alumni Board has once again taken the decision that the Annual Meeting 2021 should be postponed from its regular early May date due to the current pandemic travel restrictions. However, we still hope to have a physical Annual meeting later in the year and we are planning to have an open call soon for proposals from our community on how the meeting could be organised. In the meantime, we will focus on the recruitment of a new Alumni Board to take over after our mandate ends on the 4th of July. We have already set out a schedule for all the important dates and milestones towards the new Alumni Board and are planning more digital events, where we will be making announcements about these important dates. So stay tuned on our social media @digitalumni and get involved to shape the future of our community together!

The Alumni Board also discussed about how we can collaborate more closely with the EIT Digital. This year has been difficult for both the EIT Digital and the Alumni Foundation, with all our usual collaborative events (Graduations, Kick-Offs etc.) being postponed or moved online. This meant that our aim of even closer collaboration in these events was not as successful as the Alumni Board had hoped. However, thanks to discussing this within the Board, we were able to highlight the problems and proactively arrange meetings with EIT Digital to discuss how we can move forward and create a better working relationship in view of the future of the foundation and future Alumni Boards.
