Ray Joonatan Pohjanheimo

Position
Marketing Officer
Motivation for applying to this position

My motivation for applying is three-fold:

  • I worked in marketing for three years prior to my UX/UI design career and would like to re-apply the skills and knowledge again for something I find meaningful.
  • I greatly enjoy being a part of this community, would like to get more involved and contribute to its continued success.
  • I’m an avid photographer and multimedia creator, bringing my camera everywhere and spending hours editing photos and videos afterwards. I’d like to bring this talent to EIT as well.
Vision and plans for the community

My primary goal is to implement and develop the marketing and communication processes in the community. Particularly:

  • Digital marketing strategy - an overarching guideline for how EIT Digital  Alumni conducts marketing. This would act as an evolving playbook for marketing activities for the current board and future boards as well. Define channels and their purpose (Instagram, LinkedIn, newsletters etc.)
  • Content calendar - a semi-structured framework for what content would be released and when. This would follow the 70-20-10 form (70% planned, 20% flexible, 10% improvised).
  • Brand book and tone of voice - establish a unified look and feel for EIT Digital Alumni. Who are we? What are we like? What impression do we want to give? And many more …

I envision building up the marketing practices and procedures will elevate how EIT Digital Alumni conducts marketing now and in the future and I believe my past professional experience is the best way to make this a reality.
