As an active member of EIT’s largest hub in Helsinki, I’ve had the opportunity to engage closely with the alumni community and build strong connections. My natural enthusiasm for people and my inner social butterfly makes event organising something I genuinely enjoy.
The idea of bringing alumni together, creating memorable experiences, and fostering meaningful conversations truly excites me. This role feels like a natural extension of what I already love doing. It would also give me the chance to connect with other EIT nodes and gain more exposure to the diverse and vibrant community across Europe, which I see as both exciting and enriching.
EIT has always been close to my heart, and contributing to its mission in this way would be personally fulfilling. Helping the community grow and thrive through well-organised, impactful events feels like the perfect opportunity to give back to a network that’s given me so much.
From my time being part of the Helsinki node, I’ve seen first-hand how impactful community spaces like the CLC used to be. When the CLC was active, collaboration happened naturally—everyone knew everyone, and that spirit of togetherness fueled so many meaningful connections. But ever since its closure, that spark has faded, and the collaborations have noticeably decreased.
I’ve noticed this isn’t due to a lack of interest—at least in Helsinki. There are passionate, committed alumni who believe in this community. What’s missing is the platform—the right kind of events and touchpoints that can reignite that sense of belonging and shared excitement.
My vision is to revive and sustain that collaborative energy by organising regular community-driven events. These don’t always have to be technical; sometimes the most memorable moments come from the simplest ideas. Think:
A board game night (virtual or in-person)
A yoga session to recharge together
A beginner-friendly dance class
Cozy coffee chats or seasonal meetups
The goal is to create low-barrier, high-impact experiences that bring people together, allow new friendships to form, and keep the community spirit alive and evolving.
I’ve been an active and committed member of the EIT community for years—serving as an Aalto mentor for three consecutive years and connecting with alumni across multiple batches. I’ve also participated in two co-livings and continue to engage deeply with our largest node in Helsinki, giving me a wide and meaningful reach within the community.
EIT feels like home to me—it’s a place where I’ve found belonging, friendships, and inspiration. This year, with a bit more space in my schedule, I feel ready to give back and contribute even more. I’m full of ideas, energy, and excitement to make our community more active, fun, and connected.
Also, a little diversity on the board could go a long way—helping bridge gaps and bring the EIT community closer beyond just Europe. I’d love to play a role in making our global network feel more unified and alive.
I’ve been actively engaged with the EIT Digital Alumni community since my student days. I’ve had the chance to attend two co-livings, which were amazing opportunities to connect with members from across nodes and cultures.
In Helsinki, I’ve consistently shown up—attending almost every local event and staying involved with the community’s activities. My three years as an EIT Aalto University mentor have also allowed me to guide and support incoming students, while building strong relationships across different batches.
For me, being part of the alumni network has never been just about attending
